Indian yellow rice

6 persons

4 dl of rice

6 dl of water

2 small green chilis

½-1 msk whole cumin

3 table spoons of sunflower oil for frying

1-2 teaspoons of salt

1 teaspoon of turmeric (for the colour)

  1. Rinse the rice properly
  2. Soak the rice for 15-20 minutes
  3. Heat up the oil in a pan
  4. Fry the whole cumin and the chili and then the turmeric quickly
  5. Pour away the water from the soaked rice and then pour the rice into the pot
  6. Stir the rice so it gets yellow. Then add salt.
  7. Add the six deciliters of water and wait till the water is boiling
  8. Lower the heat when it is boiling. Let it simmer for aprox 15-20 minutes till the rice is done. (obs! If you soak the rice it will take a shorter time than usual)
